Performing

I come from a vibrant lineage of performers—actors, musicians, and storytellers. My family is a symphony of creativity, each of us with a different instrument in hand or a character to portray. From a bass guitarist uncle, a professional drummer grandfather, two pianist grandmothers who play everything from Bach to Beyoncé, and cousins who light up the stage with their acting – everyone performs like they’re born to do it.
Growing up in this creative environment, I discovered my own love of singing when I was cast in my first musical as a spunky, bluesy little old lady. She was the lead character, and the moment I stepped into her shoes and belted an original ballad called “As Time Goes By” to a standing ovation, I realized how my voice had the power to move people. From that moment on, I shared it whenever I could.
Over the years, I have been lucky enough to spend a fair amount of time on big stages—singing as part of music groups, at open mic nights, showcases, at pop-up events, contests, and more— and I can attest there is NOTHING like the thrill of performing. Every show is a is a living, breathing moment where the roars of the cheering crowd, the pulse of the drumstick on the hi-hats, and the raw chemistry between myself and the audience creates a palpable electricity that can be described as nothing short of magical.
And while these days, I mostly find my outlet in the fun and excitement of live band karaoke nights, where the laughter and camaraderie flow as freely as the music, I know that no matter where life takes me, I will always be at home on stage.
